Strain development |
Developed by Dr. Jun Aruga. Protein coding region of Zic1 exon1 is replaced by PGK-neo gene homologous recombination in ES cell. This strain has been introduced into C3H/HeN genetic background by successive backcrossing for more than 10 generations. |
|
Strain description |
The Zic1 gene is known to have important roles in the cerebellar function. In this strain protein coding region of Zic! exon 1 was replaced by PGK-Neo gene by homologous recombination in J1 ES cells. Genotype of Affected Mutation:Zic1 null heterozygous. |
|
Colony maintenance |
Backcrossing to C3H/HeN. Or sister-brother mating of heterozygotes. Breeding performance is good. The mice are provided as heterozygous breeder pairs. |
