TypeTransgeneCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameC.Cg-Tg(ITGAM-Aif1)Y/Rbrc
Former Common nameAIF-1 Tgm Line Y BALB/c background
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell line
Background strainBALB/cAJcl
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Drs. Watano and Iwabuchi in 2000. AIF-1 transgenic mice were backcrossed to BALB/c.
Strain descriptionAif1, allograft inflammatory factor-1, was originally identified as one of the expressed genes in infiltrating macrophages. This transgenic strain expresses Aif1 strongly in monocytes and macrophages (CD11b-positive cells), and is useful for analysis of the inflammation and immune response when Aif1 gene is overexpressed.
Colony maintenanceBackcross to BALB/cA (Hemizygote x BALB/cA Jcl)
