Former Common name | AIF-1 Tgm Line Y BALB/c background |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | |
Background strain | BALB/cAJcl |
Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Drs. Watano and Iwabuchi in 2000. AIF-1 transgenic mice were backcrossed to BALB/c. |
Strain description | Aif1, allograft inflammatory factor-1, was originally identified as one of the expressed genes in infiltrating macrophages. This transgenic strain expresses Aif1 strongly in monocytes and macrophages (CD11b-positive cells), and is useful for analysis of the inflammation and immune response when Aif1 gene is overexpressed. |
Colony maintenance | Backcross to BALB/cA (Hemizygote x BALB/cA Jcl) |
