TypeTargeted MutationCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameICR.Cg-Grm1<tm1(GFP)>/Rbrc
Former Common nameGluR1<neo>
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell lineTT2 [(C57BL/6NCrlj x CBA/JNCrlj)F1]
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Drs. Tatsumi Hirata and Yumiko Saga in National Institute of Genetics at 2005. PGK-neo flanked by loxP sites linked to a EGFP gene was inserted into the second exon of Grm1 gene of TT2 ES cells. The expression of the EGFP was not detected.
Strain descriptionGrm1 (glutamate receptor, metabotropic 1) is a member of a large family of G-protein-coupled glutamate receptor that is a key form normal synapse formation, synaptic plasticity, and motor control in the cerebellum. Mice deficient in mGluR1 have severe motor coordination. Homozygous mutant mice show severe motor coordination in 10-14 days old.
Colony maintenanceCross to ICR (Heterozygote x Slc:ICR)
