Strain development Developed by Dr. Shinya Yamanaka at Nara Institute of Science and Technology in 2003. A beta-geo cassette was inserted into the ERas coding region. The mutant mice were backcross to C57BL/6J for 4 times.  
Strain description ERas gene is important in the tumor-like grouwth properties of ES cells.
Homozygous mutant mice develop normally and are fertile.
