Strain development |
Developed by Masugi Nishihara, Veterinary Medical Science, The University of Tokyo and Yoichiro Iwakura, Institute of Medical Science, The University of Tokyo in 2001. Targeting construct was electoroporated into E14.1 ES cells derived from 129P2/OlaHsd. |
|
Strain description |
Grn, granulin knockout mice. A 4.7 kb fragment encoding exon 2-13 of Grn gene was replaced with a PGK-neo-bpA cassette. Homozygous mutant mice show a decrease in ejaculation incidence, enhanced aggressiveness and an elevated level of anxiety in male. |
