Strain developmentIn 2002, transgenic mice (Tg(PCP2-Grid2<Q/R>)) lines were established by injection into fertilized FVB/N mouse eggs by the donating investigator at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In 2003, the transgenic mice were bred on GluRd2<-/-> background by crossing with B6-Grid2<tm1mim> line (RBRC01657). The mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J for 5 (+ alpha) generations.
Strain descriptionGrid2*Q618R transgenic mice. The transgene (Grid2<Q/R>), which has a mutation in the putative ligand binding site of the d2 glutamate receptor, is expressed specifically in cerebellar Purkinje cells by a PCP2 promoter. This strain also have GluRd2 knockout allele.

Specific Term and ConditionsIn publishing the research results obtained by use of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE, a citation of the following literature designated by the DEPOSITOR is requested. J. Physiol., 579, 729-735 (2007). In publishing the research results to be obtained by use of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE, an acknowledgment to the DEPOSITOR is requested. The RECIPIENT agrees to use the GluR delta 2 KO mouse (BRC No. 01657) complying with the following terms and conditions requested by the DEPOSITOR of the GluR delta 2 KO mouse "The RECIPIENT of BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE shall obtain a prior written consent on use of it from the DEPOSITOR. In publishing the research results to be obtained by use of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE, an acknowledgment to the DEPOSITOR is requested. Prior to filing for a patent, or intellectual property or other rights based on results of research using the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE, the RECIPIENT shall acquire the consent from the DEPOSITOR for such application. Use of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE shall be limited to a collaborative research. And Use of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE shall require co-authorship of the DEPOSITOR for TWO years after deposition of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE to the RIKEN BRC or for first publication if no publication is made within the TWO years."
