BRC No.RBRC05808
TypeTargeted MutationCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameB6.129P2-Aldh2<tm1Kaw>
Former Common nameAldh2KO
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell lineE14 [129P2/OlaHsd]
Background strainC57BL/6JJcl
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Kyoko Kitagawa and Toshihiro Kawamoto, University of Occupational and Environmental Health in 1998. E14 ES cells were used. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 over 7 times.
Strain descriptionAldh2 gene knockout mice. A termination codon and a neomycin selection cassette was inserted into exon 3 of Aldh2 gene.
Colony maintenanceHomozygote x Homozygote [or Crossing to C57BL/6JJcl] Homozygous mutant mice are viable and fertile.
