SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameC.Cg-Stam<tm1Sug> Stam2<tm1Sug>/SugRbrc
Former Common nameC.Cg-Stam<tm1Sug> Stam2<tm1Sug>, STAM1+/-, STAM2+/-
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell lineJ1 [129S4/SvJae]
Background strainBALB/c
Appearancealbino
Strain developmentDeveloped by Kazuo Sugamura, Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine in 1999. The mutant mice were backcrossed to BALB/c over 6 times.
Strain descriptionSTAM1, STAM2 double knockout mice. STAM1 homozygous mutant mice show growth defect with aging, and neurological abnormality (reduction of pyramidal cells in CA3 of the hippocampus). STAM2 homozygous mutant mice are indistinguishable from controls. Double homozygous mutant mice are embryonic lethal.
Colony maintenanceStam: Heterozygote x Wild-type [or Crossing to BALB/cCrSlc]; Stam2: Homozygote x Homozygote [or Crossing to BALB/cCrSlc]
