Former Common nameCAT-Rho-K DN/3-1
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell line
Background strainC57BL/6JJcl
Appearanceblack [a/a B/B C/C]
Strain developmentDeveloped by Kazuto Kobayashi, Fukushima Medical University School of Medicine in 1998. The transgene containing CMV promoter and bovine Rho-K DN cDNA separated by a floxed chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (CAT) cassette was injected into the pronuclei of B6D2F2 fertilized eggs. The transgenic mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J.
Strain descriptionThese transgenic mice express a dominant-negative form for RhoA for Rho-kinase (Rho-K DN) by using the Cre-loxP system to suppress the activity of these signaling molecules in developing tissues. The signaling through Rho GTPase is important in the regulation of cellular processes such as cell morphology, cell adhesion, cell motility, and apoptosis. Copy number: line 3-1 (RBRC01294)_10 copies, line 5-18 (RBRC01298)_1 copy.
Colony maintenanceCarrier x Noncarrier [C57BL/6JJcl] Tg mice are viable and fertile.
