Strain development | Developed by Shigetada Nakanishi, Kyoto University Faculty of Medicine. Tg: the transgene was injected into the pronuclei of B6D2F1 fertilized eggs. KO: CCE/EK.CCE ES cells derived from 129S/SvEv-Gpi1<c> were used to generate the mutant mice. C57BL/6 semicongenic. |
Strain description | Double mutant mice with transgene and knockout allele. Grm6 (glutamate receptor, metabotropic 6) gene is suggested to be responsible for ON responses in both the rod and cone systems. The transgene is mGluR6 gene fused to the beta-galactosidase reporter gene. This strain is useful for investigating the promoter function of the cell-specific and developmentally regulated expression of mGluR6. |
Colony maintenance | Tg: Carrier x Carrier; KO: Homozygote x Homozygote |
