Former Common name Dermatopontin KO mice
H-2 Haplotype No Data
Donor strain (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl<+>
Background strain C57BL/6JJcl
 1 Appearance black
Genotype a/a B/B C/C
Strain development Developed by Dr. Hroshi Shinkai, Chiba University at 2002. A pgk-neo was transfered into ES cells to relpace exon 1 of Dpt gene.
Strain description Dermatopontin (Dpt) is a collagen-associated protein, is widely distributed in extracellular matrix. Homozygote mutant mice not exhibit any obvious anatomical abnormality, but the skin elasticity was increased. This strain is useful for study of the mechanism and the process of collagen fibrillogenesis.
Colony maintenance Backcross to C57BL/6 (Heterozygote x C57BL/6JJcl)
Homozygote mutant mice are fertile.
