Strain descriptionNeurochondrin conditional knock-out mice. The neural tissue-specific neurochondrin is disrupted by Cre-loxP system. Neurochondorin is a cytoplasmic protein involve in neurite outgrowth, chondrocyte differentiation, and bone metabolizm. The nervous system specific deficient mice show that the Ncdh gene is a negative regulator to CaMKII (Ca/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II) and essential for the spatial learning prosess.
