Strain development | Developed by Yujiro Higashi, Institute for Molecular and Cellular Biology, Osaka University. E14 ES cells were used. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 over 11 times. |
Strain description | Zeb1 gene knockout mice (deltaEF1 deltaC727). Exon 6 of the Zeb1 was replaced with a neo cassette. In the genetic background of inbred mouse strains, homozygous mutant mice die after birth. While about 20-30% of homozygous mice survive to adulthood in the mixed genetic background. |
