Strain development Developed by Chika Saegusa and Mitsunori Fukuda, RIKEN Brain Science Institute in 2006. E14 ES cells derived from 129P2/OlaHsd were used to generated the knockout mice. The mutant mice were crossed C57BL/6.  
Strain description Slp2 gene knockout mice. Exon 1 of the Slp2 was replaced with a neo cassette. Slp (Synaptoagmin-like protein) is a Rab family of low-molecular-G protein, and known as a molecule implicated in the Rab27-dependent membrane transport. Homozygous mutant mice shows an abnormal gastric surface mucus cell morphology and reduced number of mucus granules.
