Former Common nameGluRδ2 rescue line-R/K
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell line
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentIn 2001, transgenic mice (Tg(PCP2-Grid2R/K)) lines were established by injection into fertilized FVB/N mouse eggs by the donating investigator at St. Jude Children's Hospital. In 2002, the transgenic mice were bred on GluR 2-/- background by crossing with B6-Grid2<tm3Mish> lines (RIKEN BRC No.01657).
Strain descriptionThe transgene (Grid2R/K), which has a mutation in the putative ligand binding site of the δ2 glutamate receptor, is expressed specifically in cerebellar Purkinje cells by a PCP2 promoter.
Colony maintenanceThe mice are supplied as homozygotes for the transgene (Tg(PCP2-Grid2R/K)) on GluRδ2-/- background. Therefore, when crossed within a colony, no genotypings are necessary.
