SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameB6.129-Dmd<tm1Mok>
Former Common nameMdx52, B6-Dmd KO
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell lineCCE/EK.CCE [129S/SvEv-Gpi1<c>]
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Motoya Katsuki, Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo. CCE/EK.CCE ES cells were used. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 by Naohiro Hashimoto, National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology.
Strain descriptiondystrophin (Dmd) gene knockout mice. The exon 52 was replaced with a neo cassette. Mutant mice show hypertrophic skeletal muscles. Homozygous female and hemizygous male mutants are viable and fertile. The mice are difficult to start breeding at 8-10 weeks (12-16 weeks is better).
Colony maintenanceHomozygote (female) x Hemizygote (male) [or Crossing to C57BL/6JJcl]
