Genotype No Data
Strain development Developed by Fred Sblitzky, University of Nottingham in 2005. A lacZ-neo cassette replaced 220 bp of the ID4 cording region including the HLH domain. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 from 129 and CD1 (ICR) mixed background.
Strain description Id4 knockout mice. Id4 is a member of inhibitor of differentiation / inhibitor of DNA binding protein family. Homozygous mutant mice exhibit a abnormal brain structures.
Colony maintenance Heterozygote X Wild-type [C57BL/6JJcl] Homozygous mutant mice are small and most of them die within 8 weeks of age.
