Genotype No Data
Strain development Developed by Naonori Uozumi and Takao Shimizu, Faculty of Medicine, University of Tokyo in 1997. E14.1 ES cells derived from 129P2/PlaHsd were used. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6JJcl.
Strain description Pla2g4a gene knockout mice. A part of the exon encoding the lipase consensus motif and serine 288 of Pla2g4a was replaced with a PGK-neo cassette. Homozygous mutant mice show reduced allergic and autoimmune reactions and females of homozygous are infertile (showing abnormal parturition and decreased litter size).
Colony maintenance Heterozygote x Wild-type [C57BL/6JJcl] Homozygous mutant females are infertile.
