Strain development | Developed by Dr. Akiharu Kubo and Masayuki Amagai, Keio University School of Medicine in 2008. BA1 ES cells were used. The mutant mice were backcrossed to BALB/c by using speed congenic method (99.4% replacement). C57BL/6J background (RBRC05850), BALB/c (RBRC05851). |
Strain description | Flg, filaggrin gene knockout mice. The start codon in exon 2 and in-frame ATG sequences of exon 3 were replaced with a PGK-neo cassette. Homozygous mutant mice are viable, but exhibit dry scaly skin. |
