Strain development Developed by Masashi Kato, Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine. Generated by crossing of RET mice and Hr mice (Hos:HRM). The mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 over 10 times.
Strain description Mt1-Ret 304 mice with hairless mutant. The mice express the human RET under the control of the mouse MT1 promoter/enhancer. This strain is a model of cutaneous melanosis and develops tumors on the skin. Tg homozygous mice are embryonic lethal.
Colony maintenance Tg: Carrier x Noncarrier; hr: Homozygote x Homozygote
