Species | Mus musculus |
Strain name | B6.129P2-Serpina12<tm1> |
Former Common name | Vaspin KO, B6-Serpina12 KO, Vaspin-/- |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | BK4 [129P2/OlaHsd] |
Background strain | |
Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Jun Wada, Department of Medicine and Clinical Science, Okayama University and Yoichiro Iwakura, Institute of Medical Sciences, University of Tokyo in 2008. 129P2 derived ES cells were used. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 over 10 times. |
Strain description | Vaspin (Serpina12) gene knockout mice. Exon 2 was deleted. Homozygous mutant mice fed with a high-fat-high sucrose diet exhibit increase in body weight, fad pad, liver weight and deterioration of insulin sensitivity. |
Colony maintenance | Homozygote x Homozygote [or Crossing to C57BL/6JJcl] |
