Strain development | Developed by Shigetada Nakanishi, Kyoto University Faculty of Medicine. CCE/EK.CCE ES cells derived from 129S/SvEv-Gpi1<c> were used to generate the mutant mice. C57BL/6 semicongenic. |
Strain description | Grm6 gene knock-out mice. mGluR6 (glutamate receptor, metabotropic 6) gene is suggested to be responsible for ON responses in both the rod and cone systems. Homozygous mutant mice are viable and fertile. This strain is useful for investigating the promoter function of the cell-specific and developmentally regulated expression of mGluR6. |
Colony maintenance | Homozygote x Homozygote [or Crossing to C57BL/6JJcl] |
